If you’re looking for a brunch spot with bold flavors and a fun twist, Staring at Jacob is it. In this post, I’ll share our Hot Jacob Challenge experience, menu highlights, and why you need to book ahead.

The food and drinks at Staring at Jacob: Bold flavors and brunch favorites worth the hype

Staring at Jacob really knows how to serve up a memorable brunch. The star of our visit was definitely the Hot Jacob Challenge - a Nashville-style hot chicken burger that packs a serious punch. It was spicy, juicy, and full of flavor, and the thrill of trying to finish it in under 10 minutes for a free meal made it even more exciting. To cool things down, we sipped on their creamy iced matcha, which was the perfect balance to the heat. We also tried their salmon dish, which was fresh and beautifully presented. But the surprise favorite for us was the Philly cheesesteak sandwich - tender beef, melty cheese, and a soft bun that made every bite satisfying. The food here is consistently delicious, and the drinks menu has something for everyone. If you love a lively brunch spot with great food, Staring at Jacob is a must-visit.

The vibe at Staring at Jacob: Cozy interiors, sunny canal views, and a welcoming buzz

What really sets Staring at Jacob apart is the atmosphere. The place has a laid-back, welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger over your meal and catch up with friends. We loved the cozy interior with its modern touches and big windows that let in plenty of natural light. There’s also a great outdoor seating area right by the canal, which is perfect for people-watching or just soaking up the Amsterdam charm. Even though it was busy, the staff were friendly and attentive, making sure everyone felt at home. We especially appreciated how the music was upbeat but not too loud, so you could actually have a conversation. It’s the kind of spot where you instantly feel comfortable, whether you’re there for a quick bite or a long, lazy brunch.
